Day 1: Uphill Marina
After an early start we arrived early afternoon at Uphill. A lovely, friendly site just south of Weston Super Mare. Pitched up overlooking the lake and off for a wander. Behind the site there are a variety of different walks. Walking up to the old beacon and fantastic views over Somerset.
Day 2: Cheddar
After a leisurely start we drove along the seafront of Weston Super Mare before heading inland to Cheddar, famous for the gorge and cheese.
Parking up Dora couldn’t have been easier in the large spaces in the reasonably priced public car park.
After lunch we found the site and set up for an evening of scrumpy and cheese.
Day 3
We had intended to stop in Wells, but found nowhere suitable to park Dora so we had a pleasant drive around the Somerset countryside. We eventually stopped over in Shepton Mallett. A rather strange village full of antique or old junk shops. Refreshed we headed north to our final stop of our mini tour at Fromebridge Mill, Gloucestershire. A great country pub with a massive car park. Perfect to break the journey home.
